Tottenham Hotspur F.C.: Is Mauricio Pochettino Poised for a Return?
What is new at Tottenham Hotspur F.C.? One of the long-lasting jokes in the premier league is how easily the North London club bottles their opportunities for success. There are several on-field examples of that, most notably the capitulation against Manchester United after leading 3-0 at halftime. But it goes way beyond that. From the pitch to the office of Daniel Levy, Tottenham Hotspur F.C. can't wait to bottle things up. They did the inevitable with Mauricio Pochettino - one of their most successful managers ever.
Mauricio Pochettino as a novice manager
By now, football fans all over the world know Mauricio Pochettino. While he wasn’t a superstar as an Argentine professional football player, he has turned into a great manager of the game. He became a manager back in 2009 with his first job at Espanyol. After three successful spells in Catalonia, he then moved to the premier league with Southampton. Within a year, he made Southampton a force in the league with his team playing some beautiful shots. Soon he was snapped up by Tottenham Hotspur F.C.
Pochettino as Tottenham Manager
After he was appointed the head coach of Tottenham Hotspur F.C. in 2014, Mauricio Pochettino went on to achieve great success, except for some silverware to show for it. Players like Harry Kane went on to fulfil their enormous potentials, with others even surpassing their natural talents. His Tottenham team played some exquisite football, reaching the top 4 in the premier league a few times. In 2018, he led the team to the Champions League final, the first-ever in the club’s history. Unfortunately, it ended in a defeat with the head coach sacked in the middle of the following season.
However, with the rumours swirling around about Mauricio Pochhettino leaving his current role at PSG (Paris Saint-Germain F.C.), he is now bookies favourite to complete a sensational return to Tottenham. That would perhaps be perfect for the club after the José Mourinho debacle.
