Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Doesn’t Make Our Top 4
The Legend of Zelda by Nintendo has been around for more than 35 years. With the HD iteration of the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword announced to be released soon, we figured that it’s the best time to reflect and make a list of our top four most favourite games from the franchise.
Guess what! The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword didn’t even make our top 5, not just because we are tired of waiting for it to come to the switch. We just happen to like a few other ones more.
4. The Legend of Zelda
It’s where the legend was born! A tiny game that utilized the console’s limitations with exceptional programming skills, Nintendo set the tone for all the non-linear RPG games that we have become so accustomed to today.
3. Twilight Princess
It was the first game in the Legend of Zelda series that came with a teen rating for its slightly darker and more violent gameplay. It was long and required the player to be smarter, all the while offering a beautiful fairytale setting.
2. Breath of the World
While it’s not the most popular RPG developed by Nintendo, we love it so much for taking The Legend of Zelda to the real open world. What a world it was, with total freedom to roam around and explore.
1. A Link to the Past
This is the game that you can call the new testament for the RPGs. A compelling story, a top-down perspective, and an easy combat system made it one of the best games developed by Nintendo so far.
Yes, you guessed it right! We kept the number 5 spot open. Perhaps it would be the Skyward Sword once we play it on the Nintendo Switch!
