How To Print a Shipping Label

Using Shopify Shipping


Through Shopify admin or the Shopify App, you can buy and print shipping labels of your preferred carrier (USPS, DHL Express and UPS or Canada Post).

When using Shopify admin, log into your account to buy the shipping label. Enter the number of items you would like to fulfill, the shipping date, shipping method and signature confirmation upon delivery. Remember, the cost of the label depends on the rates offered by the carrier. Complete a declaration form if you would like to ship the package internationally. Go through the shipping details in the summary section before buying the label.


Printing Your Label Via Shopify Label


The printing process is the next step, and it can be done using a desktop printer or a supported label printer. Before printing, make sure your printer is set up correctly. You can print out a test label at no cost.

To print, start by clicking on “orders” from your Shopify admin, and select the number of an order that you have purchased a label for. Then, select “more action” and click on “print label.” In the dialog, select the printer you will use and choose the paper size that matches the selected printer (select 4-by-6-inch paper for label printer and 8.5-by-11-inch paper for the desktop printer).


Using Stamps.com


Stamp.com software is used to print only USPS shipping labels for both domestic and international postage. After opening the software, click on “packages” from the blue navigation bar. Fill in the correct details of the return address and delivery address before proceeding to other sections.

On the Postage Details Section, check that the zip code from which the package will be sent is correct. Fill in details for the type of mail piece, its weight, preferred mail class, Communication preference and any additional USPS services such as restricted delivery. You can also decide to insure the package by filling in the value of the shipment. The total cost of shipping the package will be shown below this section.


Printing Your Label Via Stamps.com


Next, is the print Detail Section where you will select what you will be printed on from the drop-down menu. You can also decide to add a message on the label by writing it on the “print message” box.

You can also choose to have a receipt printed alongside the label by clicking on the “print receipt” option. If all information is correct, click “print postage” on the bottom of the section, confirm that the printed label has a correct return address, delivery address and a barcode.

Click on the “reprint” option to correct the printed label at no additional cost.


Printing Your Label Via eBay Printing Tool


Whether you’ve just sold one item or have several items, eBay enables you to print a shipping label from different carrier companies, thereby saving you time and money through the eBay printing tool.

Click on the good(s) you have sold, check “print label for the sold item” and then click on “printing label” on the drop-down menu.

The next step is to select the printer and label receipt preferences appearing on the next page. Select the default option (any laser or inkjet printer) in case you have no special printer.

You will then choose your preferred carrier and mail class services. Provide correct information on the package weight and the shipping date.

If all the provided information is correct, click on “purchase postage.” Payment for your label will automatically be deducted from your PayPal account.

A tracking number is automatically uploaded on to the label. It is useful in tracking the progress the package.

Click on print and a copy of the shipping label will be printed with a receipt alongside it.
